I do a lot of thinking when walking the dog and when I heard the story about the Fastly servers going down I realised that, in the space of just one week, two major IT issues made headline news – the ransomware attack at JBT and then Fastly.
This made me think of security and safety in the wider sense; firstly, the breaches and virus attacks on company data, secondly the threat to our personal safety with coronavirus and thirdly the uncertainty of how both threaten our livelihoods. Clearly there are precautions we can take in our business lives to try and mitigate against these threats, but many businesses are teetering on the edge, wondering when they can re-open or resume a routine that enables them to plan and profit and be a “Going Concern.”
Through all this I look out for stories of optimism, growth, and opportunity that demonstrate the will of peoples’ fight through these tough times and here are a few I have particularly enjoyed:
