According to our respondents they believe that most processes needed for a project could be taught. If this is the case the likelihood is that these processes could be automated. So, instead of doing repetitive tasks over and over this could be managed by a simple workflow. Instead of teaching someone to fish get the system to fish for you!
Many of us have to complete business tasks that are essential but can be monotonous and take up time. Instead of thinking of them as a chore (and even more likely a bore), at every opportunity we should be asking ourselves how can we be more efficient – can a workflow tool manage the processes for me? Whilst their maybe a cost to factor in, more often than not the return on investment is fast.
If 67% of people think there would be big issues should they leave, then best practice would be to document your essential business processes so that they are there on record in the event of “what if”. That said, these should be reviewed and updated each time a process step changes.
